At only 12 years-old, Kate was a host and emcee for Radio Disney. One of its stations piloted in her hometown and she had a weekly segment called, “What’s On For Kids & Families.” Kate wrote short scripts about local community events and signed off every time with, “I’m Kate and that’s ‘What’s On For Kids & Families.’” Kate would host live events, dancing, hula-hooping and limbo-ing while holding contests for kids. She spent Saturday mornings performing the Macarena or the Chicken Dance at her local shopping mall as a brand marketing tool with a live audience. In 2004, Kate emceed an Aaron Carter concert in her hometown.
